Hi! We’re David & Kevin. We’re both born and raised in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. We enjoyed growing up in rural NJ with the conveniences of proximity to both New York City and Philadelphia so much so that we decided to lay roots near our families when we bought our house in 2013. We are blessed to live close by to our family and spend as much time as we can with the people who mean the most to us.
In June 2018 we became a family of 3 and welcomed our son Noah through adoption! We absolutely love being dads and experiencing new things with Noah every day. He’s so much fun! We can’t wait to share our love with a sibling for Noah and see him be a big brother!
We enjoy being outside whenever possible and try to spend at least part of our summer at the beach. Our favorite shore town is Ocean City, NJ!
We love movies. David’s favorite actor is Robin Williams and loves Mrs. Doubtfire and Hook. Kevin actually got David a signed autograph for a birthday one year. Kevin’s all-time favorite movie is Labyrinth with a close second to the Lord of the Rings trilogy. We are also big fans of the Harry Potter book/movie series. So much so that our animals are all named after characters!
Prior to Noah, we were avid hikers and enjoyed exploring. One of our favorite trips was to the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, and Mesa Verde. We share our love for the outdoors as often as we can. When the weather allows, we go to local parks to explore and enjoy the outdoors. We want our family to love having an active lifestyle and appreciate nature’s beauty as much as we do!
In addition to family, we have some of the best friends! Our friends were so excited to welcome Noah and we can’t believe how much they love our little guy. We are so lucky to have friends that we consider family. We enjoy having cookouts, campfires, and spending time playing board games. Kevin is notorious for winning!
One of the things we’re most excited about adopting again is getting to see Noah become a big brother. He is so kind, funny, and happy and we know he will be the absolute best brother to a sibling.
Prior to Noah, we always talked about adoption being our chosen pathway to parenthood. After going through the journey to parenthood with Noah, we are excited to expand our family through adoption again and can’t wait to see our happy boy become a big brother!
We live on a one-acre property in a rural part of New Jersey and have a dog and two cats. We live in a beautiful neighborhood with quiet streets and friendly families. We absolutely love where we live and have amazing neighbors! The family across the street has a little boy whose birthday is a week after Noah’s!
In the summer, we love spending time swimming, playing games with our friends, and watching hot air balloons from our front yard!
Our families have been incredibly supportive of our relationship since its start. We get along famously with each other’s families and try to see at least some family each week. Noah spends Monday’s with David’s parents and Friday’s with Kevin’s parents instead of going to daycare. He LOVES his grandparents and spending time with them and his favorite activities include going to the park, baking cookies, riding his bike, and playing with dinosaurs. Our parents are also friends with each other and will share books and stories with one another frequently.
We love being uncles to our three nieces and nephew. We absolutely adore them and take every chance we can to spend time with (and spoil) them. We’re lucky they live so close. Kevin is also the Godfather to our two youngest nieces. Our nieces and nephew love being cousins to Noah; they could not have been more excited when he arrived! Our one niece even wrote a short story about his adoption for school. We have told them we’re starting the process of adoption again and they could not be more excited!
In addition to our immediate family, we have many aunts, uncles, and cousins who live in the tri-state area. All of our family is supportive of our pathway to adoption. David’s parents, and brother as well as Kevin’s parents, sisters, and brothers-in-law can’t wait to see us welcome another little one into our lives.
Meet David: David is 34 years old and the oldest of two and was excited to convince Kevin to move back to his hometown with his parents only 2 miles away! David has a younger brother who also lives in town as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins in his tightly knit family. David’s parents LOVED becoming grandparents when Noah was born and retired shortly after he was born. David’s parents enjoy spending every minute they can with Noah, especially making memories at the beach and celebrating holidays with our family traditions. David used to be a high school biology teacher and in the summer, a day camp director. He now works as a school administrator. A little known fact is that David is an Eagle Scout and is exceptionally handy and continually looks for ways to improve our home. Kevin comments that David is constantly tinkering with something!
Meet Kevin: Kevin is 34 years old and the youngest of three. His parents still live in his childhood home only a 10 minute ride away! Kevin is part of the third generation in his extended family to grow up and still reside in the area! Kevin has two older sisters who live close by with their husband’s and children. Our nieces are 12, 9, and 8 and our nephew is 6. Each of them was so excited to have Noah join the family and can’t wait for another cousin to play with! Kevin is a high school math teacher and once was the school track and field coach. Kevin is a talented cook and enjoys tending to our garden, which has asparagus, herbs, peppers, cucumbers, and lots of tomatoes. Kevin actually hopes to one day write his own cookbook! Some of David’s favorites that Kevin makes are buffalo mac and cheese, zucchini fritters, and an awesome lemon chicken soup.
We actually went to high school together, but weren’t friends at the time! We officially met on January 1, 2012 for a coffee date and quickly realized the spark between us. We officially tied the knot in August 2015 surrounded by family and friends.
We promise to provide you with unconditional love, a happy and safe home, and a wonderful family. We promise to allow you to express yourself, be the best person you can be with values rooted in family, respect, compassion, and love for others.
We welcome the opportunity to maintain open contact with you. We keep in contact with Noah’s birth mom and communicate via email to share photos, videos, and stories. We are also open to annual visits at the Family Options picnic, which we’ve attended before and had such a great time connecting with other families. We’d be open to continuing the same moving forward!
