Hello from Heather and Alan. Thank you for taking your time to get to know our family.
We met on a vacation to Scotland in 2018 through mutual friends and fell in love. We planned to get married in 2020, but the COVID pandemic had other plans. We were finally able to be in the same country in 2021 and got married and started our family here in Northeast Ohio. We’re looking forward to building our family through adoption.
We both come from loving families and look forward to giving our child all our unconditional love. We hope that you will consider trusting us to share our love with your child.
We’ve always wanted to have a family, but were unable to conceive. On our journey, we considered what was best for our family and decided that building our family through adoption best fit with our values. We look forward to welcoming a child into our family.
We live in a century-old single-family home in a quiet neighborhood in the Cleveland area. Our neighbors are friendly and children play in the front yards. We enjoy walking in the neighborhood and there are many shops and restaurants nearby that we visit. Heather’s parents are right down the road from us and we have many friends throughout the area that we visit with regularly.
Alan is a warm and caring man. He’s very funny and likes meeting new people and getting to know them. He works very hard at both school, work and in our home. He’s a fantastic cook and is always looking out for family and friends - ready to help out if needed. He understands what other people need and supports them emotionally and in practical ways. Alan will make a great father because he’s both fun-loving and a great role-model for hard work.
Heather is a wonderful woman, and a great partner. I know that she is always there for me, and our family. She has a warm heart, and is always looking out for others. I love how driven, and intelligent she is. I respect her work ethic, and drive to do the best she can for herself, and our family. She will make a wonderful mother due to the traits I have mentioned, and she has a natural tendency to care for others, particularly children.
Heather was vacationing in Scotland and met Alan through mutual friends in Edinburgh. We both hit it off right away and kept in touch, visiting each other as much as possible. After getting to know each other and falling in love, we decided to get married and start our life together here in Ohio, with strong ties to family in Scotland whom we visit regularly.
It’s important to be a kind person and to pay attention to what matters in life - the people that you care about. Lots of things may SEEM really important at the time, but being a good person who takes care of others is most important. When tough decisions come along, it’s important to choose the hard right over the easy wrong. If you do that and hold true to your values, you’ll always be where you’re meant to be in life.
We recognize that placing a child up for adoption is one of the hardest and most loving decisions someone can make. We would never want to hide this from our child and would want him/her to be comfortable being curious about their biological parents.
